  What are ceramic rings in laser cutting?

Ceramic rings are critical, consumable components in the cutting head of a laser cutting machine, primarily performing core functions such as protection, signal transmission, and auxiliary processing.

When the nozzle collides with a plate or other object, the ceramic ring acts as a "sacrificial part" to bear the brunt of the impact, preventing damage to delicate components within the cutting head (such as the capacitive sensor and lens).Prevents slag generated during the cutting process from contaminating the laser protection lens, extending the lens' life.

The ceramic ring houses a copper needle and a stainless steel plate, connected via conductive silver glue. This ring transmits the height signal collected when the nozzle contacts the workpiece to the control system, enabling automatic focusing and tracking control.

Damage to the ceramic ring can cause signal interruption, unintended equipment shutdown, or the cutting head to strike the workpiece.

Reduced Friction: Ceramic material has a low coefficient of friction, which improves cutting head speed and cut quality.

Heat Dissipation and Cooling: The new ceramic ring features a circular air channel (such as the patented air guide groove) that cools the nozzle and cutting area via airflow, preventing deformation during high temperatures.

Gas Guide:Uses auxiliary gases(such as nitrogen or oxygen) to remove slag and ensure a clean cut surface.
